At Passion Barre, we care about one cause: Freedom – and inspiring you to experience the possibilities it brings!
On your journey we enjoy treating you like the work of art you are as you develop in health and strength; overcome limitations and overwrite any wrong patterns of thinking, movement and eating.
It is our joy to see you thrive in a lifestyle that fulfills a destiny worth remembering. We are thrilled to see you refuse to settle for less – for to do so would be to remain in captivity.

In the meantime, your freedom helps us further facilitate the freedom of those who are trapped in another type of slavery –Human trafficking. It’s the principle of the abolitionist. It takes one who is free to set the captive free.

So much focus and dedication at the barre today! You’re impressive, tribe!

Here’s a tip from beyond the barre – do you want to effortlessly lose 30 unwanted pounds in one year? And not only lose fat but reduce inflammation? Here’s one hidden way:
A lot of people drink an average of 2 regular soft drinks a day, which is about 300 calories! And when you add these extra 300 calories up over a year, they result in more than 30 pounds of weight gain!

As we often say in our nutrition consultations, pertaining to your lifestyle and health plan – your goal is optimization, benefits and results. Go for foods that work for you and help your body heal itself. Don’t just eat foods that only fill your tummy or sweeten your tooth. Unfortunately, the conventional soft drink is not just a neutral tummy filler. Refined sugars are a common culprit for fat-gain and inflammation. So it’s really not beneficial or optimal to our health goals.

I remember when I drank quite a bit of Soda, although not quite twice a day –  I still got rid of 15 pounds and my body settled in it’s new found weight and body fat composition. I didn’t have to fight to keep the weight off because I was no longer drinking back double the calories after physical activity.

So you might be on track and you don’t indulge in Soda very much or at all, and that is fabulous. You are on the right track. And to continue on that track, you might look at other places where you may be drinking your calories. What goes in your coffee, for instance, or do you drink too much juice or alcohol?

Check out or website or contact us for tips and alternatives on what you drink and eat.

Make a decision on these, and you’ll be saying goodbye to unwanted pounds in no time! Nutrition made pretty simple, huh?

I had yet another inspiring conversation at Passion Barre today with a comrade in the wellness community from Elements Massage. As she shared the riveting story of her lease on life, which brought us both to tears of gratitude – she helped me catch on to her phrase, “I get to.”

Having gone beyond “I can’t or I don’t want to,” she says, and I paraphrase, ‘everyday I get up, walk, work, care for my family or help people (fill in the gaps with what you do), I don’t just think “I can” now. I know that “I get to.”‘

Now, a new lease on life for you doesn’t have to be a dramatic occurrence. I know it was for me. But our new lease on life can be the commonly clichéd every morning along with the brand new mercies that accompany it. Many things remain clichéd solely by mundane attitudes. But when accompanied by the valuable “I get to” mindset as we choose to “think again” or shift our perspective, this produces astronomical results! Families, work places and societies would benefit greatly from you while you continue to help them experience creative transformation.

Knowing that our community will continue to benefit greatly being served by her, our conversation served as affirmation for me as well. I get to speak, train, coach, and write to you and all our tribe. I get to dance, I get to create. I even get to sell (we won’t get into the topic of how yours truly as an entrepreneur thought she hated selling before). I get to be who I am and do what I do.

And so do you.

Even when you exercise, walk, run, hike, or simply show up at the Barre in the fight for freedom, you “get to.”

Life is an opportunity, and “I get to” thinking is what enables us to live above and beyond.

“It’s impossible to do what you’ve never seen before… so that’s why you dream :)”

What your h(ear)t thinks…

Our newest client and I had a powerful conversation after our barre and stretch workout this morning. It reminded me of the constant privilege we have to speak life and help over-write defeating patterns of thinking in our community. This week I find myself speaking on senses thus far. For instance, earlier in the week we’ve discussed that:

“It’s impossible to do what you’ve never seen before… that’s why you dream”

And as usual, I do love a good play on words, so with our discussion today, here goes:

“Your h(ear)t was created for encouragement. Did you see that? Protect what you h(ear). Guard your h(ear)t. Look for good news. Let it in.”

I was inspired, listening to Keith Cameron Smith a few years ago, who obviously enjoys a good game of words himself. Our exercise involved dropping the first and last letter of each of these words: mind, heart and mouth – so that you understand the importance of what goes “in” your m(in)d; that what goes in your “ear” pulls the strings of your h(ear)t; and that what comes “out” of your m(out)h contains power for life or death!

The difference between you conquering in life or feeling defeated may very much lie in these truths.

So pertaining to those times when we feel discouraged or stuck. Take note of what you may have been listening to or thinking. It’s impossible to feel empowered if you give your attention to negative news, mediocre news or even no news. That’s right. Your gift, your call, your mission, your family, your career, your daily life and even your health and fitness goals need your heart encouraged in order to continue with passion and to finish strong. Make no mistake about it – there is a way 🙂

So be intentional, make your ear a magnet for good news and encouraging reports. Go and look for it. Surround yourself with it. Don’t worry about the masses. One is enough to create positive change. Two is even better. So share with a friend – encouragement, that is. And this post too, if you please.
